SINCE launching Readers' Recollection, the Citizen has been inundated with letters from folk with fond memories.
Reader Therese Ashcroft, of Lyndhurst Drive, Preston, recalls when she met her husband more than 70 years while she was a just a tot in her pram!
She said: "When he first saw me it certainly wasn't love at first sight.
"It was Whit Monday 1925 and my bridegroom-to-be had been taken by his parents to watch the annual Preston Whit Walks.
"I was one year and four months old and my mum had taken me in my pram. She sat on a chair close to a little boy with his parents.
"When the bands started to play I began to bawl. As I cried, the young lad got impatient because I was interrupting his enjoyment and spoiling his day.
"He could never have envisaged that in 1942 he would be married to that bawling baby in the pram.
"Now we are old and we have loved each other for 57 years and look forward to our Diamond Wedding anniversary in 2002".
