MESSAGES of sympathy have been pouring in to the family of tragic Karla Rose Selley.
Mrs Josephine Lee, chair of governors at Farington County Primary School, in Leyland, where Karla was a pupil, said: "It is a sad loss of a lovely little girl.
"I just can't believe this has happened. My heart goes out to her family who must be devastated.
"She was a bright and happy little girl who had just started school and I know she will be missed by her new school friends and teachers."
South Ribble MP David Borrow said: "I have every sympathy with her family.
"It is sad that a routine visit to the dentist ended so tragically."
Councillor Christine Harrison added: "I hope there will be a full investigation into the matter.
"I had hoped that the surgery would have closed for the rest of the day as a mark of respect."
A statement issued on behalf of Towngate Dental Practice read: "We are devastated by what has happened.
"We would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Karla Selley and to offer our condolences for their tragic loss.
"We are unable to add anything further."
