BEER tent boozers forced the bars to close at Old Trafford cricket ground as Lancashire battled for the Refuge Assurance championship.
Club secretary Chris Hassell issued a "stay away" message to the hooligans who threatened to wreck a bumper day for the club. Victory against Essex would have given them the title, but rain stopped play.
