LEISURE Hour B secured promotion from Division Four with a whitewash of Milnshaw Wanderers. Immanuel look the more likely to join them, as they beat the Grange whilst their closest rivals Sydney Street went down heavily at Mercer Park.
Antley had a good away win at Rishton Con A, and then beat leaders Great Harwood to take top spot in Division One. Globe A go second thanks to a crushing defeat of relegation favourites Salesbury A. Haslingden looked like climbing away from the relegation zone with a near maximum over Rushton Street A, but slipped down again away to fellow strugglers Whalley A.
Clayton Gatty surprisingly lost at home to Spring Hill, but took full advantage of their game in hand against Waddington A, to go a point in front of Clitheroe Cricket at the top of Division Two. Coppice beat Free Gardeners to pull away from the drop zone, but Hurst Green A lost at Waddington A to remain in danger. In Division Three third-placed Leisure Hour A had a shock at home to bottom-of-the-table Castle B.

THE semi-finals and final of the Leonard Whittaker Cup were held at Clitheroe Cricket and Bowling Club last Sunday. The draw for the semi-finals kept the two First Division sides, Ribblesdale A and Great Harwood apart and gave Come and Welcome of the Second and Globe B of the Third, a giant-killing chance. As it happened, Globe B managed to do just that, but Great Harwood proved too strong for Come and Welcome,.
Results: Gt Harwood 168, Come & Welcome 163; Globe B 178, Ribblesdale A 170.
In the final Globe B had the advantage of a 24 point handicap, but were unable to capitalise on it as all their first four players lost with two particularly heavy defeats. There was an improvement in the Second, but not enough to worry their opponents who took the trophy with ease.
