ST HELENS Town's North Western Trains division one campaign begins at Hoghton Road on Saturday when Ramsbottom United provide the opposition.
Kick off is at 3pm and admission is Adults £3, juniors and OAP's £1.50.
Having finished eighth last term in a quality competition won by big-spending Workington, Town hope to improve and push for honours themselves.
But competition is intense in the pyramid systems which eventually leads to Football League status.
Manager Jimmy McBride has tested a host of pre-season hopefuls and latter signs have been good with impressive results against teams sent by Macclesfield and Wigan Athletic.
A major boost has been the acquisition of centre-back Darren Kelsey from Conway but the boss's major headache has been to fill the jersey of keeper Mike Allison who has joined Congleton.
Former Marine custodian Terry Hollywood has shown excellent form in the build-up games and is likely to start against Ramsbottom United.
Following Saturday's opener, Town are at Bootle on Tuesday evening (7.30 pm) before embarking on the AXA FA Cup trail on Saturday week at Chester-le-Street. Supporters wishing to travel to the Wearside venue should contact Secretary Bill Noctor (816182) as soon as possible for reservations.
NUMBERS drawn in Town's Lucky Six Lottery were 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10. There were no winners and this weekend's prize is £750 on numbers 1-15.
