MIKE GREGORY has a handful of injury problems hampering his selection plans for Swinton Lions' trip to Barrow on Sunday.
Skipper Sean Casey, forced off with a ripped leg muscle in the defeat against Featherstone at Gigg Lane last Sunday, may make it with the help of an injection, but loose forward Paul Barrow is almost certain to be missing as he prepares to undergo surgery on his troublesome hernia.
Lions' coach Gregory was also keeping his fingers crossed over second row forward Richard Eyres, who has a back problem.
Centre Matt Bateman also took a knock on the head against Featherstone and will have to get the all-clear from the medics before he can play up in Cumbria.
Despite all that, Gregory is looking for a much-needed win on Sunday after successive defeats against Rochdale and Featherstone.
"Really, it's a game between two teams who have both put in some very good performances, but are also very inconsistent," said Gregory.
"Nobody likes to travel all the way up there and lose, so I have got to drum into the boys that they have got to perform away from home as well as at Gigg Lane.
"We have to get the ball rolling again after our last two games, but they just switch off at times.
"I was very disappointed last week, but the good thing in this game is that another match soon comes along, giving you the chance to bounce back quickly.
"We have got to do that to please me, the players and the supporters," added Gregory.
