LOCAL MP Hilton Dawson has hit out at a new report into the future of BBC funding. Mr Dawson slammed the Gavin Davis report, which he says failed to address the vital issue of pensioners, who have to pay full whack for a much needed TV, which can provide their only window on the outside world.
Mr Dawson told the Citizen "I'm appalled that the committee has completely failed to address the issue of a TV licence for all pensioners." He added "TV is important for older people and we really should be doing much better than this."
