THERE'S still time to volunteer for the Blind Welfare Society's walk across Morecambe Bay on August 21 and 22.
The eight mile adventure will be led by the Queen's guide, Cedric Robinson, starting at Arnside and finishing at Grange-over-Sands three hours later.
The event is the society's major event of the year and both walks still have places.
Said the Society's director, Peter Taylor: "It is a really good day out and anyone can take part, not just keen walkers. The Society has had a poor year from a fund-raising point of view. The walk on Saturday is aimed at raising funds for a specialist "talking" computer and there are prizes galore, including a trolley dash, a formula one drive and tickets to see the Spice Girls, for those who raise the most sponsorship.
