HILL Street blues became a reality for Elmo the lonesome parrot, whose pal flew the nest.
But now his feathered friend, Denzel, has been returned to his home in Hill Street, Radcliffe.
Denzel escaped last week by flying through a window while his owner, Mrs Debra Hart, was cleaning his cage.
The family issued "MISSING" posters and distributed more than 1,000 letters, hoping for a lead. Fortunately, Mr David Halliwell of Lowton Street spotted one of the posters.
Denzel had stunned himself when he flew into a window of the house, and Mr Halliwell looked after the feathery visitor.
She and Elmo were reunited with Denzel on Monday morning, August 9.
Nice to be home . . . Denzel has quite a tale to tell his pal Elmo. And 12-year-old Stuart Hart hopes this is the end of Denzel's wanderlust.
