THREE St Helens councillors were 'keeping up appearances' when they attended the annual Champagne reception and dinner for honorary graduates at Liverpool University where guest of honour was TV's Patricia Routledge.
Councillor Mike Doyle, deputy chairman of the Regional Development Agency, Councillor Pat Robinson, university council member, and Councillor Janet Smee, training and education consultant, mingled with guests including Lord David Owen, Merseyside Chief Constable Norman Bettison, and actress Patricia Routledge, who received an honorary degree on the day.
