YOUNGSTERS keen to become anglers are being offered free advice from St Helens Council's Ranger service.
There are up to 15 places available on a coarse fishing workshop being held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 16, 17 and 18.
The course is aimed at young people up to 15 years of age and a local expert will be offering training in the basics for those new to the sport and tips on how to do better for those who already have experience.
Venue is Taylor Park lake from 10am to 4pm each day and there is no charge. Youngsters can either bring their own fishing tackle or there will be a limited quantity available for loan. Free bait will be provided. Those taking part will also need to take a packed lunch and appropriate clothing.
Places must be pre-booked and the Rangers can be contacted on either 01744 815586, or 24857.
