AN inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a Clitheroe man.
John Brett Jackson, 27, was found dead at his home in Corporation Street at 7pm on Wednesday.
A post mortem examination has been carried out and an inquest was opened yesterday at Blackburn Magistrates' Court by East Lancashire acting coroner Michael Singleton.
The inquest has been adjourned until November 2 at the Ribble Valley Council Chamber, Clitheroe.
A spokesman for Clitheroe Police said Mr Jackson's death was not being treated as suspicious.
"Relatives of Mr Jackson became concerned when they hadn't heard from him for several days," he said. "His body was discovered at home where he lived alone. The coroner was informed but his death is not being treated as suspicious and we will not be investigating the matter further."
Mr Jackson's funeral will take place at St Michael and St John's RC Church, Clitheroe, at 11am on Monday, followed by burial at Clitheroe Cemetery.
