A SOGGY Snetterton failed to put the dampeners on John Batchelor's Super Road Saloon race.
For the Blackburn driver mastered the tricky conditions at the Norfolk track to climb from 13th on the grid to finish third overall - in his first-ever drive in the wet.
"I've never seen, let alone driven, in conditions like it," explained Batchelor.
"The race was cut from 12 to 10 laps for safety reasons, but cars were even spinning off on the warm-up lap. We were unable to utilise the power of the car because it was so slippery.
"In the end, everyone was just glad to see the race out in one piece."
Office equipment suppliers Phillips Office Team, of Bolton Road, Blackburn are sponsoring Batchelor for the remainder of the season. They join regular backers Blackburn Rovers FC, Columbia Motors, Rishton; East Lancs Box Company, Greyhound Ford, Redcap Trailers and Greg Smith, Burnley.
