A MOTHER will scale the dizzy heights to complete a parachute jump to raise money for her children's school.
Joanne Buck, 33, of Duke Street, Harle Syke, will train at Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, on September 11 before her tandem skydive from 13,000ft.
She said: "I got to a stage in my life where I just thought if I don't do the things I have always wanted to do then I could find myself never doing them.
"Already this year I have had a helicopter ride which I always wanted to do and I always fancied jumping out of a plane so I decided to go for a tandem parachute jump and raise money for the school at the same time.
Joanne's husband Philip is backing her efforts and so are their children Helen, nine, and Joshua, four, who both attend St James' School, Lanehead.
She said: "I am actually looking forward to it, but when we are at 13,000ft though I may be a bit nervous. I am quite happy to jump out of the plane as long as I know my instructor has it all under control!"
