FISH and chip shop owner Andy Stevenson celebrated with a famous cricketing mate after his chippy proved to be a six-hit!
Andy, 38, opened the takeaway in Marlborough Road, Accrington, after quitting his job with British Gas.
Now customers who are hooked on food from Andy's Fish and Chips know his fry-ups are the best after he was given a top award.
Inspectors from the Seafish Industry Authority handed a Quality Award to Andy on a plate after spending two hours in his restaurant.
To celebrate and thank his loyal customers, Andy sold fish and chips for just £1 for a day.
His old pal Graham Lloyd, Lancashire and England one-day international cricketer, was on hand to celebrate the achievement.
Graham, who regularly batters bowlers to the boundary for the Red Rose County, is the son of former England coach and Lancashire legend David Lloyd, and still lives in Baxenden.
He used to play for Accrington Cricket Club with Andy and has remained friends with the family for 15 years.
Andy can claim his fish and chips are a prize catch for his customers as he is one of only three holders of the award in Hyndburn, Blackburn, Rossendale and Burnley.
Andy said: "The inspector spent two hours here and did 40 temperature checks from storage to reheating. He also looked at the presentation of the staff and customer service."
