PENSIONER Ada Bagshaw celebrated her 70th birthday in style - with a surprise trip on Concorde.
Ada, of Railway Road, Brinscall, sipped champagne throughout the flight, which lasted one hour and 40 minutes from Heathrow.
Her birthday was announced on the flight.
Her daughter Jean Walsh and son John Walmsley organised the flight, and drove Ada to Heathrow for the trip. Family and friends clubbed together to pay for it, and also managed to keep it as a complete surprise.
They also threw a birthday party for Ada at St Joseph's Club, Brinscall, with cabaret entertainment.
Her daughter-in-law Shelagh Bagshaw, said: "Ada said she felt really special, as if she was being treated like royalty.
"It was absolutely marvellous."
This was not the first time that Ada, who has four grandchildren, has taken to the skies for her birthday celebrations.
She went on a hot air balloon trip for her 69th birthday, and a helicopter ride for her 68th birthday, both organised by her family.
