AN East Lancashire environmental group will offer advice on how to reduce rubbish at an event this weekend.
Great Harwood Prospects Panel will have a stall at the Civic Society's Crying of the Charter fair on Town Gate Square, Great Harwood, on Saturday.
Visitors will be able to find out what happens to their household waste and how they can reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill by re-using, recycling and refurbishing things that would otherwise be thrown away.
Lancashire County Council's giant mole, Mole-Ennium, will be on hand to talk to youngsters about how they can help reduce the county's waste mountain.
Prospects panel chairman George Slynn said: "We want to help residents cut down domestic bills and help protect the environment. We will be providing no-nonsense advice.
"Everyone will be encouraged to take action at home to reduce household waste, save energy and cut pollution."
Visitors to the stall can also put their ideas for improving Great Harwood on a large plan of the town.
The group is particularly keen to hear ideas about how they can work in partnership with the town's local neighbourhoods and businesses.
