THIS West Lancs Premier League triumph on Tuesday night was one of the best results United have ever achieved after some early-season disappointments.
A debut for Nick Waugh at the heart of the defence, and the return of goalkeeper Mitch Walker gave United's rearguard a lot more confidence and allowed the midfield to get closer to the opposition than in previous games.
United started by putting the visitors under pressure and not allowing them to settle.
Paul Corrigan got the final touch for the first goal on 20 minutes at the end of a good move.
Corrigan was the provider for the second, setting-up recent signing Adie Akbar.
The third arrived on the half hour when Zaf Iqbal broke down the right and got bundled over inside the box. The referee awarded a penalty and Corrigan slotted it home to send the homesters in at half time 3-0 to the good.
In the second period, Barlick would not let the Feniscowles team settle and kept the pressure up . United's man-of-the-match Akbar got his second.
The Blackburn outfit got a consolation goal before United finished the game off with two late goals - Akbar completing his hat-trick - and sub Andrew Bannister adding a sixth.
On Saturday, Barnoldswick entertain Norcross and Warbreck at the West Close ground (kick-off 3pm).
