POLICE investigating the death an elderly pedestrian who was killed in a road accident are appealing for information about a car seen close to the scene of the collision.
Thomas Patrick Begley, 81, was crossing Whalley New Road, Blackburn, near its junction with Gretna Road at 10.05pm on Monday.
His wife, Mabel, managed to avoid the Vauxhall Calibra being driven by Saul Rajski, 23, of Rydal Mount, Belthorn.
Mr Begley, of Whalley New Road, Blackburn, suffered head injuries and was dead on arrival at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
Police want to hear from four Asian men who were travelling in a white saloon car towards Whalley when the accident happened, or anybody with information about the vehicle.
