BAMBER Bridge kicked their season off in fine style with a fantastic 2-0 win over one of last season's high flyers.
Andy Whittaker sent a warning shot to opposition defences with the double that did the damage.
He first broke the deadlock a minute into the second half when he converted a Nigel Greenwood cross.
Just a minute later he doubled the scoring after finished a chipped pass from Steve Aspinall, who had a magnificent game.
And although the two goals were enough to win the game, Brig had countless more opportunities to really wow their travelling support.
Wayne Maddock could have put the team ahead on six minutes had he not hit the woodwork from close range.
Nigel Greenwood and Aspinall also had chances once Whittaker had created what was to be the final scoreline.
In contrast, Worksop's chances were few and far between. Their only notable attempt coming on 64 minutes when Gary Townsend tried his luck with a powerful drive from 25 yards.
