A 26-YEAR-OLD man was punched in the face and hit with a 2ft piece of wood in an apparently motiveless attack.
He was walking down Riverside with three friends, at 10.56pm on Sunday, August 15, when the group was approached by four men.
The victim was punched as the groups passed before being hit by a 2ft post with fencing wire on one end.
The attacker is described as white, 6ft, 25, stocky, weighing around 14 stone, unshaven, wearing jeans, a light t-shirt and a Chipie jacket.
