I WAS most interested to read about the card suggested by the Red Cross for the carers of disabled and invalids to carry (Citizen, July 22).
My son is disabled. And the only people who will ever be allowed near him in my absence are properly paid and vetted employees of Lancashire County Council - regardless of whether an emergency occurs or otherwise.
The Red Cross organisation - like the St John Ambulance - once had a good name and reputation.
Sadly, due to political correctness, this is no longer the case.
Lancashire County Council has its own emergency back-up team, properly vetted and trained to deal with such emergencies.
These days, carers cannot be too careful regarding the numbers of abusers who prey on the disabled and vulnerable.
Charities such as the Red Cross, along with many others who offer help in emergencies offer easy legitimate access for abusers to prey on the vulnerable.
