A SALVATION Army appeal in the Citizen has attracted donations of more than 1,200 items for the needy.
Steve Armistead, who is working for the charity as part of his university course, launched the appeal for kitchen equipment for their housing association three months ago.
Since it appeared, more than 1,200 items have been handed in to the charity's Lawson Street depot.
Steve said: "There was a great response to the newspaper appeal. The donated goods will help furnish the Salvation Army housing association accommodation, which offers people a stepping stone to making a new start in life."
If you would like to donate any household items, call the Salvation Army on 01772 881380.
