PRESTON couples who married in 1949 are being invited to share their golden wedding anniversary with the town's mayor and mayoress.
The mayor, Councillor Geoff Swarbrick, and his wife Jean, the mayoress, will celebrate their 50th anniversary on September 24.
They will mark the event with a church service at the St John's, in Church Street, at 9.30am on Sunday, September 26, following a civic reception at the Harris Museum.
Golden wedding couples will be treated to a full buffet and a chance to chat about the last half century.
If you would like to celebrate your 50th anniversary with the mayor and mayoress, please contact the mayor's secretary, at the Town Hall, in Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL, with details of your name, address, telephone number and date of your wedding.
