YVONNE Wright (Your Letters, Aug 13) says "noise levels are no problem here" with regard to her invitation to site the forthcoming fair on Bolton Street, Bury.
Of course noise isn't a problem for businesses that close their doors at 5.30pm and proprietors who then travel to homes outside the town centre.
Ms Wright may consider that she has a "good relationship with the Showman's Guild" but she obviously hasn't thought about her relationship with the local residents of both Irwell Street and Phoenix Street. We are the ones who would be left with the noise of the fair, the fair-goers and the associated parking and movement of cars in and out of the area until well past 11 o'clock each evening.
