PALS Donna Wood and Clare Nash have an acute case of the Yankee Twang. They are preparing for their roles as New Yorkers Sylvie and Mickey in 'The Odd Couple', next month's adult comedy from St Joseph's Players.
And the most demanding part of the Neil Simon comedy is getting to to grips with the American drawl.
Yet 12 months ago the twosome were back in the USA as sisters in the classic 'Little Women'.
"We had just got one American accent out of our system when we started with another," complained Donna. "But this is great fun."
The play runs from September 21-24. Tickets from Boardman's on Bradshawgate, Leigh. Or you can pay at the door.
The show forms the first half of the Leigh company's Autumn Double. In October they will be presenting the World War story of 'Accrington Pals'.
