THE Aldershot and District Bus Interest Group has been formed to co-ordinate and promote the wealth of interest that still exists in the Aldershot and District Traction Co Ltd, a bus company which operated in Aldershot, and a large part of Surrey and North East Hampshire, from 1910 until the formation of the National Bus Company in 1970.
We are working with the help of Hampshire County Council Museum Service to compile an archive of audiotape reminiscences gleaned from former members of staff, passengers and others with memories of the company.
Several long journeys have already taken place to catch up with former employees, and others, who now reside in 'foreign parts.'
