AFTER all the controversy this week Morecambe will be looking for a quiet victory this Saturday at home to third placed Chorley.
All the trouble aside Morecambe fans have a cup final to look forward to in a couple of weeks time after a good victory against Blackpool.
Lancaster - whose bad season shows no sign of improving - face another tough task this Saturday when they travel to play the other joint leaders Darwen at Birch Hall.
Darwen are the only unbeaten team in the league, so Lancaster will do well to bring some points home to Lune Road.
Preston 124 Morecambe 118-8
MORECAMBE had to settle for a losing draw in this rain restricted match.
Farouk Patel and Peter Stephens bowled magnificently to reduce Preston to 53-6 although Preston eventually powered their way to 124.
In reply, Morecambe started disastrously, losing Mark Woodhead without a run on the board but they still chased the runs for victory.
Morecambe finished on 118-8 with Iqbal Liley taking 4-36.
Lancaster 117-8 ST Annes 121-2
LANCASTER lost by 8 wickets to joint league leaders St Annes in a rain-affected match at Lune Road.
