PADIHAM FC produced their best all-round team performance for some time on Tuesday when they beat Tempest United 2-0 away from home in the West Lancashire Football League.
John Harrison opened the scoring for the Storks when he volleyed in from close range following a pinpoint cross from Phil Malley after 15 minutes of the first half and Shaun Kendall scored Padiham's second 10 minutes later. He chipped the Tempest keeper after a shot by Steve Yeoman was saved and the rebound gave the Storks' midfield player the opening.
More chances followed as Hargreaves and Harrison dominated the midfield and Fletcher and Holgate looked lively in attack. In the second half Padiham gave first team debuts to Dave Littler and Alex Buck who both came on as second half substitutes.
Today, Padiham were away to Lancashire Constabulary (kick-off 3pm).
Padiham Reserves started their league fixtures in midweek, but lost out by a single goal as Feniscowles Reserves beat them 1-0 at the BAe Canberra Ground.
