JOBSEEKER Christopher Farnworth, 21, from Accrington, is building himself a new career after 18 months of unemployment with help from the New Deal.
Pauline Stuttard, an advisor from his local Jobcentre, arranged a placement for him under the Environmental Taskforce option of the New Deal, with housing advice agency, Hyndburn Homewise.
Christopher spent 26 weeks making outdoor improvements at homes owned predominantly by senior citizens and disabled people. At the end of the placement, Hyndburn Homewise's training manager, Barrie Williams, was so impressed with his hard work and positive attitude that he rewarded him with a full time job.
He is now in charge of the other New Deal trainees working on the project.
