PADIHAM followed up their 4-0 midweek Hospital Cup win over local league side Brunshaw with a much more important West Lancashire Football League away victory over Lancashire Constabulary on Saturday.
Anthony McCluskey opened the scoring against the Police side in the 25th-minute when he broke through the middle and shot past the keeper, and although there were no further goals in the first half, Shaun Kendall was extremely unlucky when he had a powerful header well saved just before half time.
After the break, Padiham completely dominated the proceedings and increased their lead to 2-0, when McCluskey cleverly chipped the home side keeper in the 55th minute and 10 minutes later, John Harrison thundered in a shot to make it 3-0.
Lancashire Constabulary pulled a goal back soon after, but in the 80th minute Jason Tansey rounded off the scoring to give Padiham a comfortable 4-1 win.
Padiham Reserves went down 2-0 away to Leyland Motors Reserves, but once again could count themselves unlucky.
After weathering a good start by Leyland, Padiham improved in the first half, progressed and dominated the opening 20 minutes for the second half during which Joey Stevenson hit the Leyland crossbar.
Leyland scored twice in the last 15 minutes to win the game.
Padiham A beat White Hart 1-0 in a friendly.
