NEXT Knuzden travelled to the Seasiders for an annual friendly and once again produced superb pre-season form. Crisp pass and move football gave the Seasider no chance. Goals were spread around and came from Danny Maxwell, Adam Gannon (2), Andy McMonagle (2), Sam Morris (3) and four more from striker Gordon McKay. Knuzden's midfield was outstanding. James Booth was man of the match after a tremendous game.

CASTLE ISLANDS 2

THE annual visit of Castle Islands from Ireland, produced a superb game of boys football, once again played in superb spirit by both teams. The visitors who were a year older than Knuzden, reached half time leading 2-0, but Knuzden refused to be beaten and late in the game drew level with goals from Gordon McKay and James Booth. It was still level after extra time and in the penalty shoot-out Knuzden's man of the match, full back Mitchell Lucas calmly slotted home his penalty to give Knuzden the win, after Knuzden's keeper Steve Wotherspoon had made an excellent save.

CLAYTON VILLA 4

KNUZDEN YOUTH 3

THE last of the pre-season friendlies ended in defeat in a very close game. Knuzden's team had to be changed round due to five players missing the game. However, it was a good workout fitness-wise. Knuzden's goals came with a hat trick from captain Andy McMonagle. Knuzden's man of the match went to left winger Sam Morris who was outstanding throughout.
