Harry's Stable Whispers
I AM having a busy day today with three runners at Hamilton this afternoon.
The highlight of my afternoon was the return of Saffizz in Racing Channel in Pubs and Clubs Novice Stakes at 3.15pm. We were expecting a big run from him but the race should have put him spot-on for his main objective of the season - the St Leger Sales Stakes at Doncaster in two weeks time.
He will probably need the run after his operation two month ago, as he's only been back in training for four weeks but this race will bring him on pounds for the big race where 10th prize money is £5,000.
Swan at Whalley also ran today. He led at Pontefract on Sunday for four furlongs, but only Swanney knows what he will do.
Kevin Darley asked for the ride again today.
Ribble Assembly runs but will not get his ground.
I've returned to Whalley three or four days a week as the sale of the Swan fell through at the last minute.
Les Eyre's horses are looking very well at the moment and he has given me the names of a couple to follow over the next couple of weeks. Out Like Magic has improved very much over the last couple of weeks and will be visiting the winners enclosure shortly.
Floating Embers is another one who is knocking at the door and Trembley will win his maiden shortly.
Kevin Ryan's Gralmano will run a big race at Redcar on Saturday.
Carry on following the Godolphin horses and also Dandy Nicholls' sprinters. At Musselburgh on Friday Soaked of David Chapman and Lady Helen of Tim Easterby, will both be hard to beat.
On Thursday at Folkestone in the 2.30pm, Bedazzling, who I had a good word for first time out, and though very unlucky in running, will have learned a lot. The table highly rates this horse and he will be thereabouts.
Yesterday, I visited Beechwood Grange stud to have a look at the yearlings with Kevin Ryan. We looked at some lovely yearlings which will be at the September and October Doncaster Sales.
One of the nicest yearlings we looked at was our own Bambi by Noble Patriarch out of Pride of Whalley. She's got a lovely formation and looks like a sprinter already.
Have a good week.
