CHILDREN from Hyndburn will enjoy a fun-packed day of activities on Friday thanks to a National Lottery grant.
The Giant Fun Day will round off Hyndburn Council's summer programme of events which have provided youngsters with many challenging activities throughout the school holidays.
Attractions include an Army zip-line slide, a bouncy castle, face-painting, prizes and games, sports activities and cycling. Children's characters Postman Pat, the Care Bears and Welephant will be there, and former Rock FM DJ Paul Booth is set to play.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm at White Ash playing fields, off Harvey Street, Oswaldtwistle. Admission is free.
The activities have been paid for by a National Lottery Small Grants Award made to the Special Children's Integrated Play Supporters Group, which has helped organised the fun day.
The full team of more than 30 Just For Fun staff, who have run events throughout Hyndburn this year, will come together for the first time to make the day a success.
Council play co-ordinator Nigel Green said: "The aim is to offer kids in the borough a massive end-of-summer finale. There will be play activities for children of all abilities."
