BUSINESSMAN Peter Laycock has returned to Rossendale from America with a new invention under his belt.
Peter, 46, has obtained a worldwide patent for a new design of braces which make it easier for people who have difficulty getting dressed through disability or arthritic problems.
Peter, who stays at the Royal Hotel, Waterfoot, when he returns from business trips abroad, said: "The braces are a boon for the elderly and disabled.
"The braces automatically pull trousers up and down. There is no need for people to take them off their shoulders and no need to remove pullovers or jackets."
"The braces are already in production and will be a big help to nursing homes and hospitals."
Peter, who is in the plastics industry, and has homes in Mexico and Los Angeles, supplies the braces through Sonlaw Limited.
