THE Blackburn and District CTC team were once again dominant in the midweek Kirkby Track League and with only two weeks to go the local club are in a cliffhanger of a position with regards to the overall series team prize.
Last week they gained wins in the Devil Take the Hindmost thanks to Chris Lee and Shaun Pearson who won the scratch race and was also a member of the winning Italian Pursuit team. In the final event of the evening, the Deeside Decider, Ian Stott was first over the line followed home by team members Dave Ebbrell and Shaun Pearson in second and third places giving the Blackburn club a narrow lead over the Liverpool Mercury club in the overall team table.
The next two weeks promise to provide an exciting finale to the outdoor track season that has not yet been rained off in 19 Wednesday evenings, but the weather could still play a part in the fate of the Blackburn club in the final team placings.
