A MAN was given a ticking-off by police after he was arrested carrying what looked to be a gun.
The 29-year-old, from Accrington, was arrested in the town centre at 11am yesterday after he was spotted on closed circuit television.
He was found to have a cigarette lighter shaped like a gun. He was taken to Accrington police station and later released without charge.
Inspector Stephen Haworth said: "There was insufficient evidence to charge the man with any crime. He was advised in relation to his conduct and released."
