NOISY youngsters playing ball games in an Accrington street are causing misery for residents, according to a petition submitted to Hyndburn Council.
But the 14 concerned residents in Corporation Street are set to be denied the "No Ball Games" sign they have requested, because council officers say it would break rules on road signs.
Their petition states: "We have done everything in our power to prevent the kids from playing ball games in the street and making noises. The kids throw their balls at windows and get so involved in the games that they run about without looking out for cars.
"This is very dangerous for them and for drivers. They make so much noise that it is getting very difficult for people who live in the area."
Councillors will consider asking the police to remind parents and children of the dangers of playing in the road.
