LET the sun shine on Saturday for the big showdown in the Bolton Association.
Atherton leap-frogged Golborne to secure second place at the weekend - and the derby rivals face each other in just two days in a game which could decide the title.
Golborne will be looking to bounce back following a shock defeat at lowly Standish where Arindum Sarker and Peter Walder each took four wickets as the big guns were whittled out for 147, Steve Woods 45 and Ian Seddon 36.
Paul Hassan top scored with 45 as Standish finished the job with seven wickets remaining.
Atherton's Andy Hall continued his remarkable scoring run against Spring View.
He hit a brilliant unbeaten 113 to add to the 84 he scored the last time he faced his favourite opposition, that coming on the back of a century.
His performance ensured victory as they chased 180-4, Atherton getting there with two overs and five wickets remaining.
The misery continued for Astley & Tyldesley, losing by 19 runs against Elton.
Elton were all out for 186, John MacGuire playing his part for A&T with 5-45. But the bottom club were dismissed for 167, Simon Nicklin 60 and Dave Nolan 39.
