FURTHER to the furore about the fair (Your Letters, Aug 20), I wish to add my voice.
I do hope that wherever the fair is sited it will be satisfactory to the majority.
The personal remarks made about Mrs Yvonne Wright, by Ron and Kate Eccles (Your Letters, Aug 20), smacked of sour grapes.
Working hard and raising money for others is not an easy task - I know because I do plenty of it. Charities need constant publicity to raise awareness and provide more funds.
So they think Mrs Wright blows her own trumpet regarding her efforts. They don't know the half of it and I am sure that the Bury Times wouldn't be publicising her activities if they thought she was self-serving.
As for not needing any more customers, I am amazed by the arrogance of such people. Does that remark mean they don't want any new business? How odd. If so then they don't deserve to get any business with that attitude. They certainly won't be getting mine!
TIN-SHAKER,
Tottington.
