ACCRINGTON STANLEY duo Mark Brennan and Russell Payne look set to be ruled out of tomorrow's trip to Matlock Town.
Brennan could be out of action for a couple of weeks with a hamstring problem while Russell Payne has aggravated an old ankle injury.
That's a headache manager John Coleman could do without as the Reds go in search of their first league win of the season.
"We've got to start winning games, starting at Matlock tomorrow," said Coleman.
"On the balance of play we should have beaten Burscough on Tuesday night.
"In light of our first two games, a draw was a disappointing result.
"It won't be easy at Matlock, though, because I've had them watched and from what I can gather they're a big, strong side who are very hard to break down."
Meanwhile, Bolton Wanderers Under 19s take on Leeds United at The Crown Ground tomorrow. The game kicks off at 11am and admission is free.
CHORLEY new-boy Paul Fleming could make his 'debut' for the Magpies in tomorrow's clash at Belper Town.
Fleming has returned to Victory Park for a second spell after signing from Lancaster City and goes straight into manager Ken Wright's squad as the Magpies aim to make it three wins on the bounce.
"We're looking forward to it because there's a lot more optimism around the club now after two wins and two clean sheets in the space of a week," said Wright.
"But we're under no illusions about tomorrow's game because, from what I can gather, Belper are a good footballing side who like to get it down and play." Striker Keith Evans may undergo a late fitness test on a knee injury but winger Colin Potts is back in light training.
ROSSENDALE UNITED boss Micky Graham is back at the helm for his side's trip to Glossop North End.
Graham was away on holiday when United chalked up their first league win of the season against Atherton Collieries on Tuesday night.
But now his batteries are recharged he can't wait to get back to business against a Glossop side who have proved something of a bogey team in recent years.
"We always tend to have tough games against them," said Graham.
"But we've made a good start ourselves and with a bit more luck we could have had nine points out of nine.
"We are certainly not conceding the same amount of goals as we did last year and that was one of my main aims before the start of the season."
RAMSBOTTOM UNITED chief Ken Bridge is plagued by injury problems ahead of his side's daunting trip to Newcastle Town.
Steve Brennan and Steve Strange are definite non-starters while Carl Trimble and Danny Goodhall are struggling to shake off knocks.
United are yet to pick up a point so far and they are sure to find it tough against a Newcastle side who are always formidable on their home turf.
"It's been a tough start because we haven't been able to play a home game yet because of the problems we've had with our pitch," said secretary John Maher.
"A trip to Newcastle is never easy at the best of times but we'll just have to get on with it and hopefully Carl or Danny might be fit." BACUP BOROUGH hope to erase memories of their midweek FA Cup mauling by beating Squires Gate at West View.
Manager Brent Peters described Borough's second half performance in their 4-0 trouncing by Sheffield as 'abysmal' and he is demanding an immediate improvement.
And he's signed former Burnley apprentice Aneurin Brennan this week in a bid to add more craft in midfield.
"I wasn't happy about the way we performed but we've got to bounce back quickly," said Peters.
"Squires Gate are a strong side but we gave them two very good games last year and I hope we can do that again."
Brian Winrow is doubtful with a groin strain but Sean Wharlow should be fit to return to the starting line up.
GREAT HARWOOD boss Denis Underwood has snapped up prolific marksman John Scarlett ahead of their game at Bootle.
Scarlett scored 48 goals for Nantwich Town the season before last and Underwood is delighted he's agreed to move to The Showground.
"John's a great signing for us," said Underwood. "He holds the ball up well, he doesn't lack work rate, and he has a knack of being in the right place at the right time in and around the area."
And the Reds have received a further boost with the news that Paul Brown and Mark Walsh are fit to play their first games of the season.
NELSON could be without five first-teamers for their trip to Ashton Town.
Colin Wright and Mark Robinson are unavailable because of work commitments, Les Thompson is away on holiday and Shaun Lister and Jonathan Irvine face late fitness checks.
But manager John Bailey was hoping to tie up another new signing today after snapping up Ian Lang during the week.
"I'm hoping to bring someone in for tomorrow but I can't mention any names at this stage," said Bailey.
"We've already signed Ian Lang this week and he'll be a good signing for us.
"He's played at a higher level and, where possible, we are looking to sign more players like that."
NEW signing Scott Thornton could make his COLNE debut in tomorrow's trip to Alsager.
But Mark Holland and Joel Warner are both away on holiday.
