WHY has the Government sanctioned new trials of GM crops? Who needs them?
GM crops or not, the earth will not be able to sustain a population of an infinite number.
GM crops were never intended to feed more people, but as a means of cornering the market in food.
The seeds from GM crops are sterile, this means that farmers will have to buy seeds from whoever has control of them - and the price can be dictated.
Moreover, the chances are that tests we have not been told about, tests that have been conducted in deliberate secrecy, have shown that seeds from accidentally cross-pollinated natural strains are probably sterile as well.
If this is indeed so, then non-GM crops will gradually disappear from the earth and the seed merchants will rule the world.
