GARETH Ainsworth was a recent PNE loan target, according to members of the Preston Supporters Group 2000.
At their inaugural meeting, held last week, manager David Moyes revealed he tried to bring the player, who left Deepdale in 1995, back to the club recently along with several other players.
RUMOURS have been denied that the club is looking at a Bournemouth midfielder. Deputy chairman Derek Shaw told the Citizen: "David is looking at several players but with the signings of Rob Edwards and Brian Murphy I think it is safe to say we are covered in midfield."
PNE rightback Gary Parkinson is on course to return to action in time for Christmas - almost a year after he damaged his knee, which resulted in a rebuilding operation.
TICKETS for next Wednesday's game at Reading have gone on sale. PNE have 4,000 tickets.
Prices are: £12 for adults and £7 for concessions and are avaialble from the PNE ticket office.
TWO of the next three home fixtures at Deepdale will be category A matches, which means prices are around £1 more expensive than usual.
