THE referee did nothing to help this West Lancashire League Premier Division game awarding two controversial red cards plus two 'dodgy' penalties.
The two dismissals for foul and abusive language - both from the Lansil ranks - did not help their cause.
But there was not a bad tackle in the game.
After 25 minutes, Dan Terry and Adie combined to set up Paul Corrigan for the first goal, but within 10 minutes, Lansil were back in the game from a penalty.
On 40 minutes United took the lead, another great ball by Adie allowed Paul McDowell to grab his first of the season, only for Lansil again to draw level with a second penalty before half-time.
In the second period, no sooner had Lansil been reduced to 10 men than they took the lead.
But from one of the several attacks, McDowell got his second and Barnoldswick's third.
With time running out, man-of-the-match McDowell got his hat-trick to clinch the points.
Barnoldswick were at home today to Norcross and Warbreck (kick-off 3pm).
