I WAS shocked to learn that asthma and wheezing in young children has almost doubled in the last decade.
So I am appealing to readers to join me in the fight to conquer asthma. I have asthma myself and, as team captain for this year's Great British Swim, I am calling on readers to help raise money for the National Asthma Campaign.
This year's goal is for everyone who takes part in the swim to reach the team target of £260,000 and to swim the combined distance of the length of the UK coastline - an amazing 6,629 miles.
To find out how you can get involved, call Great British Swim organiser Susan Reynish on 0171 226 2260 ext 342.
