ROSSENDALE chalked up their second consecutive league victory of the season thanks to goals from Craig Sargeson and Steve Carling.
Micky Graham's men moved up to sixth in the table after another powerful display blew away a physical North End outfit.
Sargeson set the ball rolling with an expert finish on five minutes and Dale never looked back after that.
The home keeper handled outside the area and Sargeson picked up the loose ball to float a cool lob into the unguarded net.
Andy Grimshaw could have made it 2-0 midway through the half but his stinging volley was tipped around the post.
Then Jim McCluskie went close after the break with a smartly taken free-kick following a foul on substitute Danny Heys.
Dale did, however, get the insurance of a second goal with 10 minutes left.
Giant midfielder Steve Carling, who had come on to replace Grimshaw, picked up the ball 40 yards out and hoisted a stunning lob over the stranded keeper to send United's travelling army into ecstasy.
