SPRIGHTLY Mary Moss celebrated her 90th birthday by living out a lifelong dream of being on horseback.
Mary, who lives in Blackburn, took to the saddle at Lord's House Farm special needs centre, Rishton, and did a lap of the riding school to fulfil her childhood wishes.
Mary's daughters, Mary Read and Agnetha Poynton, also of Blackburn, took her to see the dray horses at Thwaites' brewery and arranged a party with her friends at Ardley Centre, Bent Street.
Mary Read said: "It's always been mum's dream to ride a horse but I don't think she's ever had the chance before.
"It was my husband David's idea that she should go to Lord's House Farm because the facilities there are so good.
"It was a complete surprise and she was thrilled to bits. The horse was even called Fred which was the name of her husband!
"She's a grand lady. She's very active and she's always baking, knitting or doing something."
