MONTHS of careful nurturing paid off for nearly 300 exhibitors, who helped keep the standard high at the 26th Blackburn and District Summer Flower Show.
The event was staged in St Francis Church Hall, Feniscliffe.
Hundreds of visitors admired everything from flowers, fruit and vegetables to crafts, cookery and floral art.
Assistant show manager Norman Thompson, said: "The judges were very impressed with the excellent standard of exhibits.
"The growing season had a difficult start but the sunshine in July certainly helped."
