BOYS Club B were made to fight all the way by newly-promoted Havelock in the Burnley Sunday League Division One.
Craig Robinson scored twice as Boys Club took an early two goal lead. Havelock fought back, Clegg and Barker levelled the scores. Wayne Howarth regained the lead, but Muggeridge put Havelock on level terms. Harrison helped Boys Club to the points.
Jesters, with two goals from Anthony Leach, started their season with a 2-1 victory over CWR. Craven Heifer won a close game 3-1 over Yatefield. The game was fairly even, the difference was Mark Boyes who scored two good goals to get Craven Heifer's season going, but Yatefield when their injured players recover, will do a great deal better.
The final game was a high scoring affair between Paradise Island and Park View. Steve Adams was in top form with two great strikes and all the Island's forwards were on target to rattle up six goals. Park View who have now conceded 12 goals in their opening two matches, will have to tighten their defence.
In Division Two Byerden House gained their second win beating Cakeboards 3-1. O'Hara, Harrison and Hennigan all scored to put Byerden House top of the table, closely followed by Lane Ends who beat Royal Butterfly 2-1 with their best marksman Andy Forrest in top form. George IV won their second match with an easy win over Coal Clough 3-0 with Ian Loftus scoring all three. Woodman hit form with a six-goal drubbing of Cloverbrook with Paul Bell scoring three times. Rose and Crown beat Redrose 2-0.
In the Third Division, Boys Club Youth beat newcomers Railway 5-1 with Mark Biscomb and John Heaton both hitting two goals. New team Veka won again with a late goal for a 3-2 win over Lane Ends B. Parkside and Artline were involved in a seven goal thriller with Andy Braddock scoring a hat trick for Parkside, but Robert Morrison also scored three for Artline UK to win 4-3.
Commercial started off their season with a 4-1 victory over TSB thanks to a Peter Chew hat trick. In the final match Warburtons and Glory shared four goals.
