LANCASHIRE went on a "crack" alert as American police and drugs experts launched a crusade against the killer drug.
The experts from Washington DC warned that the cocaine-based drug could reach epidemic proportions in the UK. And police chiefs holding a "crack conference" at Lancashire police headquarters demanded a top-level meeting with Government ministers to discuss the crisis threatening Britain.
